The idea behind the development of such a robust software tool was an elegant and well architectured personal publishing system. The founders Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little joined efforts to create something like that and introduced WordPress to the technology world, in 2003. They developed it as a fork of b2/cafelog written in PHP by the French developer Michel Valdrighi.
